General Erection

So good citizens of the UK, a general election is not too distant. "Why bother" I hear you cry, they are all a bunch of useless w*nkers, one party is as bad as the other. To a certain extent I agree, it seems that all those wonderful words when in opposition get forgotten once in power. It may be that the realities of government are rather different from the pink fluffy clouds of policy, it may also be that cynically once in power politicians tend to forget those who elected them and simply go off and do their own thing. Whatever the situation, I suppose the worse thing we can do is simply not bother. Why, well I guess it allows the possibility of more and more extreme views getting a real chance of turning fantasy in reality; and we don't want that girls and boys! So what are the choices this time round, well for me it boils down to either supporting well intentioned people who want to cocoon you in government which dictates how you should live your life. In the process, the administrative burden grows and grows to eventually guzzle all the wealth of the nation away. The alternative is supporting people who appreciate that socially moderated capitalism is the only way of producing wealth in the modern world, but who nevertheless tend to give the multinational businesses that run the global economy too much freedom to the detriment of society. The choice... is yours!
